The latest models come with an impressive interior dimension, 5 seats, front and rear headroom of 37.5inches, front legroom of 41.9inches, rear legroom of 40iches, front shoulder room of 57.6inches, rear shoulder room of 55inches, front hip room of 54.8inches and rear hip room of 53.8inches.

The standard features highlights include; 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition, a sunroof, simulated leather upholstery, a power adjustable driver’s seat and dual-zone automatic climate control. On the electronic front, you get a wide screen infotainment display that displays great-looking maps and excellent colour contrast and indicators, Bluetooth, navigation (Scout GPS Link), a Wi-Fi hotspot (Lexus Enform), three USB ports (one front, two rear) and a 10 speaker sound system with a CD player and satellite radio.

Standard safety features include forward collision mitigation, dynamic cruise control, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning, automatic high beam assist and parking sensors. An optimum package adds a power-adjustable steering wheel, driver seat memory settings, heated and ventilated front seats.

Other than its cumbersome touchpad interface, the ES is a showcase for appealing technology. ES 350 models have 10 standard airbags, Bright instruments, No touch-sensitive panels, works with internet radio, App-compatible multimedia system, available Siri Eyes Free Mode for iPhone, standard backup camera, voice commands, even Apple car play is finally available, the native hard-wired and Bluetooth connections are robust and useful outside of device operating system.

Inside, ES 350 will continue to offer materials like Matte Bamboo, Linear Dark Mocha and Linear Espresso wood. F Sport models go in a different direction, with a Japanese sword-inspired metal trim as the focal point.

One major change and one that finally brings Lexus almost up to date with nearly every other automaker is the control system. The 2019 ES is the first Lexus to offer Apple Car Play smart phone functionality, but shoppers looking for the Android Auto counterpart should opt for the 2020 model.
